Nicholas Flowers (he/him) Director of Community Outreach
Nicholas Flowers is an active community volunteer, Inuttut speaker, skills teacher, knowledge holder and well-respected youth from Hopedale.
He holds a Certificate of Indigenous Language Proficiency from the University of Victoria (UVic) through Pirurvik. He has worked as a Language coordinator in Hopedale, as well as online Inuttut Language Instructor with the NG. He is currently living in Hopedale where he has recently completed the Master Inuttut Apprentice Program.
Although only 21, he has become well-known for receiving multiple awards and scholarships, and attending conferences and delegations.
He actively volunteers at Amos Comenius Memorial School (ACMS), teaching the youth how to sew and clean sealskins, demonstrates lighting the Kullik, and reading Inuttitut stories.
He is an artist and actively builds Kamutet, uluit, Kullet, and snowshoes. His passion for practicing and teaching language and cultural activities is what drives us all at Inotsiavik. His charisma, talent, and exceptional personality is key as he serves as a skills teacher and translator for Inotsiavik.
Nicholas enjoys volunteering at community events, practicing Inuttut, working with sealskins, teaching youth and adults, spending time on the land and hanging out with his cat Ivalu.
